Quantum Futures Exhibition
May 14 @ 9:00 am - September 14 @ 5:00 pm

Discover the tiny world of quantum
Quantum physics helps us understand how things behave on the tiniest possible scale. Not only does this fundamentally change our understanding of the universe, but it also has massive implications for the way we live, work and communicate.
Quantum Futures is Australia’s first exhibition dedicated to quantum technologies. Developed in collaboration with EQUS and Q-CTRL, it opens the door to the Second Quantum Revolution, using simple explanations, hands-on experiences, and inspiring visuals to introduce ideas like superposition, entanglement, and duality — concepts that are reshaping everything from computing to cybersecurity.
In Quantum Futures, visitors can get hands-on with some of the core ideas shaping the future of technology. Take part in Q-CTRL’s Bloch Sphere challenge and manipulate your very own qubit, part of their interactive quantum training course Black Opal. Get a glimpse behind-the-scenes of Swinburne University’s dilution refrigerator lab— a window into real-time quantum research happening right here in Naarm/Melbourne. And don’t miss Youturn, a striking installation by artist Natasha Johns-Messenger that transforms the concept of quantum duality into a vivid sensory experience.
Whether you’re a student curious about the future, an educator looking for accessible STEAM content, or just someone who’s heard the word “quantum” and wants to know what it actually means — this exhibition is for you.
Quantum Futures is presented in partnership and collaboration with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems and Q-CTRL.
